Anyone who travels to Thailand after a last minute can experience the proverbial Asian hospitality. The country in Southeast Asia is a perfect travel destination for Asia lovers, whether they are an experienced globetrotter or a novice traveler. For vacationers of all ages and also for families, Thailand offers a wide range of relaxation and vacation options.

Buddhist Thailand has a very good infrastructure, unique beaches, fantastic hotel complexes, landscapes that are unique in the world and is a wonderful travel destination all year round. Depending on the travel destination, you should pay attention to the regionally different rainy seasons so that the long-awaited dream holiday does not completely fall into the water.

Bangkok — the city of angels

The first destination for many Thailand vacationers is Bangkok, the city of angels. Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya, the metropolis with its 7 million inhabitants presents itself as a union of tradition and modernity. The Thais’ great respect for tradition and their open-mindedness for progress are particularly evident here. A particularly pleasant way to discover Bangkok is through the city’s rivers and clongs. With fast long tail boats or with local public transport, i.e. scheduled boats, a multitude of sights can be reached comfortably and inexpensively. Those who are not entirely suitable for rivers can take the pleasant and comfortable Sky train, a kind of city high-speed railway that takes guests from A to B quickly and reliably.

Royal Palace — Perfect Tourist Attraction

The old town with the grounds of the Royal Palace, also known as the Grand Palace, is definitely worth seeing. Vacationers will discover a collection of classic Thai art and architecture from the country. Wat Phra Keo, which houses Thailand’s largest sanctuary, the Emerald Buddha, is located on the premises. Wat Pho, also known as the ‘Temple of the Reclining Buddha’, is just as impressive. You shouldn’t miss a real Thai massage — here in Bangkok’s oldest temple is a center of traditional medicine with a massage school.

Damnoen Saduak’s floating market
The floating market is worth a detour. It consists of three authentic markets with fruits, spices and other goods. The colorful range is offered for sale on small boats and is a highlight for tourists. The spectacle can be admired in the province of Ratchaburi, 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok.

The bay of Phang Nga

A narrow peninsula, which forms the south of Thailand, extends south of Bangkok and extends from the border with Myanmar to Malaysia. Inland, impenetrable forests and mountains fascinate the explorer. The bay of Phang Nga in the Andaman Sea is world famous. Bizarre rock formations rise impressively up to 300 meters high from the shallow water. The scenery is reminiscent of a sequence from the James Bond film ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’. Part of the film was shot in Phang Nga Bay. Today you can visit these places in boats and experience the fantastic film set live and up close. Embedded in this wonderful landscape are the dwellings of the Chao-Ley, a fishing people who have led a very independent life for centuries. Their villages built with stilt houses, mainly in Phang Nga, on Phuket and the islands off Satun, are partly geared towards tourists. There you can have lunch, stroll a little through the place and get a little insight into the life of this people.

Last minute to Phuket

With its 543 square kilometers, Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world.

Tropical beaches, a large selection of hotel and holiday complexes and a beautiful interior of the island attract thousands upon thousands of holidaymakers to this island every year. The most beautiful and consistent time is between November and April, when the sea is calm and the clear water invites you to dive. The annual Chinese Vegetarian Festival is a special experience. The believers do not eat meat or kill animals for nine days, and some walk over glowing coals in a trance.

Sukhothai — the first royal city of Thailand
If you travel north, Ayutthaya and Sukhotai in central Thailand are a must. Sukhothai, the first royal city of Thailand, world cultural heritage and religious center of a powerful era is a complex with 16 Buddhist temples, four Hindu shrines, ramparts and much more. In Ayutthaya there are magnificent ruins of temples and palaces and testify to the former splendor of the Ayutthaya period, which lasted for over 400 years and ended in 1767.

Anyone who got hungry from so many excursions should treat themselves to a Thai meal. Exotic spices, coconut milk and fresh ingredients pamper even the most demanding guest. For relatively little money you can spend a wonderful evening in lovely restaurants. You can satisfy
your hunger in one of the many cook shops across the country in a more original, but by no way less tasty.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is located in northern Thailand, the second largest city in the country. Chang Mai is Thailand’s most important center for high-quality handicrafts: wood carvings, lacquer ware, antiques, silver jewelry, embroidery, silk, cotton and wickerwork. Another interesting excursion destination is the area around Chiang Rai in the far north. Many hill tribes live in this still quite untouched region and guided trekking tours provide an insight into this landscape, which is characterized by lush vegetation. Thailand is an exotic travel destination that can be easily traveled on your own by bus, train or rental car. An interesting culture.
